Venus, Cupid, Folly and Time by Angelo Bronzino.

This picture was painted in the mid-1500 and, probably, its main purpose was to educate people about the consequences of irresponsible sex.

Venus, goddess of love and sex, and Cupid show to an inexperienced young man the pleasures of sex. The figure that removes the curtain (Time) shows the unwanted consequences of licentious behavior: the man to the left is sick with syphilis.  

If you happen to be in London in the near future, you will find this painting at the National Gallery; highly recommended after the gallery, a coffee in Covent Garden and dinner in one of the many colorful restaurants of Soho.

Este cuadro fue pintado a mediados del 1500 y tiene como propósito educar. Venus, la diosa del amor y el sexo y Cupido le muestran a un joven inexperto lo placentero y liberador de la sexualidad. La figura que corre el velo (el Tiempo) le muestra al joven, sin embargo, las consecuencias no deseadas del sexo irresponsable, ejemplificadas por el hombre dolorido a la izquierda, que es un enfermo de sífilis.
